Life-to-Life Revolution

There is no greater time for disciplemaking than now! Ministries around the U.S. and the world are reporting increased openness to Jesus. And the Navigators are on the front lines – equipping students, military, and people in every walk of life as disciplemakers .

When we hear Jesus’ vision for making disciples, it is important to consider the context.

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.

(Matthew 9:36-38 NIV)

These words were spoken during a time of upheaval. Israel was under the unjust rule of an occupying Roman army, which caused many to assume Jesus would rise to political power. However, His revolution was not a political one, but a spiritual one. His words, “Come follow me and I’ll make you fishers of men;” or “Go and make disciples” were rooted in an urgency to reach those without hope at a tumultuous time in history.

We, too, are living in a moment of uncertainty, but The Navigators are committed to bringing the same answer – Life-to-Life® discipleship, rooted in Jesus Christ – to the urgent needs of this world.

Day after day, despite challenges, we hear of Navigator staff moving into the fertile soil of our pandemic shaken land, bringing more of Jesus through video-based ministry. Thousands of students have experienced virtual life-to-life discipling meetings. International students are coming to faith during this uncertain time. Thousands of people in Harlem, NYC were fed through our at-risk-youth program. We are seeing marriages brought back from the precipice, and First Responders bringing Jesus with them into harrowing circumstances.

In the Lord of the Rings trilogy, during a desperate time, Gandalf’s speaks to a struggling Frodo – “I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo. “So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

The Navigators are committed to what God has asked of us with the time that is given us – to raise up millions of people in every walk of life to meet the needs of today’s harvest. We do this for the sake of Jesus and for those in need of a Savior.
