Passing On Your Faith

The Navigators staff team at Eagle Lake Camps uses the following “FAITH” acronym when praying for and considering individuals for summer staff. They know that staff members with these qualities will be growing in their relationship with God and also having a great impact on the campers entrusted to their care.

Review these qualities and pray about how you can apply them in your own life. Now, think of someone in your life who you could mentor through these FAITH qualities.

Faithful – A person who understands what being faithful is and how God blesses steps of obedience. Also, someone who has demonstrated a pattern of faithfulness, even in small tasks.

Available – Someone who is willing to move out of his comfort zone to listen to and respond to God’s call on his life.

Initiative – An individual who steps up and takes initiative to do “what others can’t and won’t do” (as The Navigators founder Dawson Trotman observed).

Teachable – A person who is open to learning, and who is eager and willing to learn from other people and life experiences.

Heart –Someone who demonstrates both a heart for God and a heart for people.

“And these things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
–2 Timothy 2:2
