Originally from Manasses, Virginia, Colonel Shawn Hatch grew up in an Air Force family and spent much of his childhood on the East Coast. He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in astronautical engineering and spent the next 12 years as an aviation officer in the U.S. Army.
During his active duty, Shawn served in numerous leadership roles, including two deployments to the Middle East. In 2011, he left active duty and joined the New York Army National Guard, where he continued to lead in various capacities, served an additional deployment to the Middle East, and graduated from the U.S. Army War College in 2022.
While stationed at Fort Campbell in Kentucky, Shawn and his wife, Marie, attended a Navigator Bible study and became intrigued with our Calling to invest in disciplemakers. They joined Navigator staff in 2011, serving at West Point from 2011 to 2019. Shawn was then appointed deputy of the Military western division and later Military deputy director. Since April 2023, he has served as the Military and First Responder Mission director.
Shawn and Marie have been married since 2000 and now live in Colorado Springs. Marie actively engages in mentoring, coaching, and disciplemaking, beginning with their adult children, Abigail and Caleb, and teenagers, Miriam and Noah.
