Kathleen and I have ministered with The Navigators since 1994, first in Russia and for the next thirteen years on three Wisconsin college campuses. From 2008-2012 I directed the Upper Midwest Navigator Collegiate ministries in ND, SD, MN, and WI. Then in 2013 we moved to Colorado Springs where I was blessed with the opportunity to lead Nav20s, The Navigator mission focused the millennial generation of our country.
Now after four years of service, I am transitioning into a more comprehensive leadership position as City Director for The Navigators in Minneapolis – St. Paul. What does this mean ? In some ways my responsibilities will be similar. In all, I will actually have more staff (69) to serve than I have had in all of Nav20s. In Minneapolis, students and young adults will continue to be an important focus. But then there is so much more. Wherever you look, the nations are here! There will be incredible opportunities to partner with the local church. I will also have the privilege of helping our team increase our impact among the under privileged of our city.
In so many ways, I feel blessed to be given a role that is a convergence of both passions and prior leadership experiences! Our Navigator mission is this: “To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His Kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling along the lost”. It is my vision that this far-reaching calling would be a reality for all men and women in our city regardless of age, socio economic status, or ethnic background. It represents our commitment to not only share the Good News, but to train disciples, who will have a ripple effect of influence where they live, work, and play. In the Twin Cities, these disciplemakers can touch the world by simply crossing the street or stopping at a coffee shop. The nations are at our door step!
