Ann and I are into our fourth decade with The Navigators. 2016 marked 30 years of ministering to our American military in Virginia, Germany, Florida, and Arizona.
In 2012 we changed missions and location and worked with the Collegiate Mission in the Mid-Atlantic States. The students love for God and their peers changed some sorry paradigms I had about “today’s students”. The past four years have been some of our best ministry experience, working more within our gifts and strengths, and seeing that bear fruit. The “autumn years” of our lives is a fairytale as we are working harder but also smarter.
In June of 2016 we did (I hope!) our final transition to the Encore Mission. This allows us to use our gifting within our local church. I see God using us on four fronts. 1) Leading a Saturday morning “Twenty-Something” men. 2) Soul care on an “as-needed” basis. 3) Doing extended follow up and accountability with a dozen or so men from prior ministries who are in the kiln of work, marriage, and family responsibilities, and 4) Continuing to invest with lifetime friends who have yet to meet the Savior but are getting oh-so-close.
We have two sons and two wonderful daughters-in-law, and four granddaughters.
