Dr. Bob Ewell serves with The Navigators, working out of his home office in Monument, CO. His mission is to “Equip ordinary people to make a difference wherever they are and help willing pastors do the same.”
After a 20-year career in the US Air Force, retiring in 1990, he operated his own statistical consulting business for 11 years before joining a church staff as minister of discipleship. He became Navigator staff at the same time, and after five years left the church staff position to become full-time Navigator in 2006. His job then and now is to carry out 2 Timothy 2.2, a ministry he began learning and practicing when he met The Navigators in 1967. (“That which you have heard from me …commit to faithful people who shall teach others also.”)
He has been married to June since 1968, and they have four grown children and eight grandchildren.
June is also a Navigator, investing in women, mostly in one-to-one discipling relationships. A Nationally Certified Teacher of Music, she teaches piano in her home-based studio.
Bob is excited to pass on disciple-making principles, which he says take “True GRIT” since effective ministry is… – Generational – Relational – Intentional – Transformational. These concepts are right out of 2 Timothy 2.1, 2, and he wrote about them in “Live the Adventure!” Bob has also published the book “Join the Adventure!: A Call to Christian Discipleship and Mission Suitable for Everyone.” You can read more about the books at his blog site: http://www.drbobewell.com. Bob is also pleased to be able to use his experience in statistical analysis as The Navigators’ “Data Scientist.” In that capacity, he analyzes data for various offices in The Navigators’ corporate headquarters as well as assists field staff in discipleship-related assessments of ministries and materials.
