Titus 2:11-15 … These are important doctrinal verses in Titus that proclaim the Gospel of Grace. This is the reason for the behavioral guidance that begins these verses … the reason for godly behavior is this (v.11): “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.” So much is imbedded in those few words … God’s grace (favor and blessing we don’t deserve) … has appeared in Jesus Christ … bringing salvation (which is redemption and atonement), giving us His righteousness and holiness … and it’s available to all through acceptance of what God has done in Christ for us. That should motivate us to godly behavior and turn us completely from seeking the things of the world and causing a joyful anticipation of the Lord’s return. Verse 15 confirms that this is a very important message for the church to urgently proclaim: Christ has come bringing salvation. That should make a great impact on us and the way we live as we await His coming again!
