Revelation 15 … This chapter, still in an interlude of background and perspective, will introduce the final events of the wrath of God on an unbelieving world. The Church has been taken out of the world and we’re witnessing a revelation of end-time events that includes a seven-year long period of great Tribulation, the final events of which are introduced here. The introduction is brief, just eight verses, but tell us that a third round of judgments is about to begin. First there were seal judgments (Revelation 6), and then the trumpet judgments (chapters 8 and 9). Now there will be a series of judgments we call the “bowl judgments.” Those in heaven who, through faith in Christ, have been saved out of the Tribulation time are pictured in heaven worshiping through song (15:3-4). At the conclusion of that, John sees in his vision, a distribution of seven bowls representing the final wrath of God on an unbelieving and desperately evil world.
