Ephesians 3:14-21

Ephesians 3:14-21 … Based on the importance of the Church of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 3:1-13), the text says “therefore” … because of that, don’t lose heart. And so Paul, in an amazing prayer, shares his request to God in 3:16 which is:

1. That we’d be strengthened spiritually (v.16) through the Holy
2. That Christ would dwell in our hearts through faith (v.17).
3. That we’d be rooted and grounded in love (v.17).
4. That we’d know the all surpassing fullness of the love of Christ (v.18-19).

And the thought of Paul’s prayer for believers is closed with a benediction in verses 20-21 … that God is able to do abundantly more than we can even imagine according to the power of the Holy Spirit within us … for the glory of Jesus Christ our savior … and this benediction is forever, going right into eternity. Think for a moment of the privileges we have in Christ. Some of it has been shared in this passage and even that is overwhelming. Yet so many around us are oblivious to the grace of God … ignorant of His promises and of the potential we have through Him. That’s why sharing the love of God with a world that is spiritually destitute is so essential.
