| In 1963, Jim Petersen and family moved to Brazil to
pioneer the Navigator ministry with a few university students. He went
on to influence Navigator ministries in other Latin American countries,
the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Africa. His hugely popular Living
Proof has helped countless believers reflect the Gospel in everyday
life.
Also in this quarter of vibrant Navigator ministry . . .
1963—First Asians joined U.S. Navigators staff. This same year other countries began to send out Navigator missionaries.
1976—With the launch of NavPress publishing ministry, traditional
Navigator resources such as the Topical Memory System became broadly
distributed, equipping and encouraging believers throughout the body of
Christ.
1978—To support ministry growth locally and worldwide, The Navigators
built a 45,000 square foot headquarters next to Glen Eyrie. By the end
of the century an expansion doubled the size to support mission growth
worldwide.
1981—NavPress launched Discipleship Journal, each issue of which now
spurs 100,000 believers to grow deeper in Christ. A second magazine,
Pray!, regularly reaches 44,000.
