Chinle, Arizona, on the Navajo Nation

CJ and Maurie Thompson joined The Navigators as Associate Staff in 2008. They live with their three children in Chinle, Arizona on the Navajo Nation, where CJ has worked as an optometrist with the Indian Health Service since 1999. 

They are committed to helping believers in their community develop a mature understanding of the Gospel, and to loving the people that God has placed in their lives. With this as their focus, they are active in youth ministry, Bible studies, church leadership, and one-on-one relationships. Maurie reaches out to Navajo women through a ministry to young moms.  

Having developed a deep relationship with Navigator staff Tom and Delphina Johnson, through many years of ministering together, CJ and Maurie are excited to officially join the Navigator Native American Indian Discipleship Network Team.
