Personal Notes on John and Joyce
Joyce is a discipler of many, gardener, writer, and, and raises chickens on our
place we call "Blessing Hill." Her published works include: Finding God in the Garden, a devotional
calendar; In God’s Garden, a devotional
for gardeners, both from Tyndale House Publishers; and Goodbye
Jeanine, a memoir of Joyce’s faith journey after their daughter’s
suicide; NavPress. She has also written for Discipleship Journal and other
publications.
John has renovated a 1900's terra cotta, stucco and
concrete horse and carriage barn into their present home. He loves designing and
building, woodworking, woodturning, gardening and getting about on his red 1992
750CB Honda Nighthawk motorcycle.
John has been on staff with the Navigators more than forty-five years. He pioneered the work at Virginia Tech in 1961, and started or aided ministries on military bases and college campuses in the Washington, D.C. area.
