John partners with pastors in the Baltimore-Washington D.C. area who are interested in helping their churches to think and act intentionally about living and discipling among the lost. John has also ministered short-term in Siberia and Africa. 

Locally, he helped form and lead a Tri-State Small Group Network now in its 13th year of service. The Network invites small group directors and pastors to meet bimonthly at one of four locations for sharing, sharpening, equipping one another, and for mutual support and prayer.

Together John and Joyce worked to develop national disciplemakers in the Netherlands, the Philippines and the USA, while raising a family of four. They have lived in Baltimore, Maryland since 1975.
