The first year of college can be a scary one. Like many others, I arrived on campus nervous and alone. I was a Christian, and I knew college would challenge my floundering young faith. What I didn’t know was how soon God would get to work in me!
I went to 24-7 (the Navigator ministry at the University of Iowa) seeking friends. I found family. One of the staff women met with me once a week for discipleship. Through that precious year, the roots of my faith deepened from head knowledge to a heart conviction.
Looking back on the past four years, I have seen what a transformational time college can be. So many people have invested time and wisdom into my spiritual walk. Now I look forward to the opportunity to walk with younger women through their college years at Iowa State University. I’m especially excited for the opportunity to meet one-on-one with women like others met with me.
