A New Kind of Missionary

A NEW KIND OF MISSIONARY

The traditional missionary model has been one in which the missionary teaches and tells. Marilyn and I want to be a new type of missionary. We want to create conversational relationships of safety—full of laughter, hard questions, and personal discovery. We love to see people learn and experiment with new ideas. Along with ministering in the community, I (Randy) train staff, and develop new materials that are visually engaging, interactive, and make one think. I love anything about teaching and learning, both spiritually and intellectually. Some of my recent ministry projects have involved examining curiosity, the importance of imagination in spiritual transformation, and the skill of question-asking in the Scriptures.
