Hawaii
You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men; being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, cared for by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of human hearts. 2 Corinthians 3:2-3
Aloha from Hawaii! We minister to men and women from all five of the military branches: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. Hawaii truly is the "melting pot of the Pacific" and brings together the military and many people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Through our church, we also support local ethnic ministries and Navigator EDGE Corps volunteers ministering at the University of Hawaii.
I (David) came to know Jesus because a Navigator led Bible studies at the base chapel at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado. A few years later, I met Jodi in Bible studies also led by Navigators. For the next 10 years of military assignments (including 4 moves) we continued to be mentored and loved by Navigators serving at military bases. Together they showed us what it meant "to Know Christ and to make Him known."
The Navigators brings a special service to military ministry—investing in lives one on one, instilling spiritual disciplines, teaching how to study the Word of God, and multiplying spiritual generations. We know the value of Navigator ministry firsthand and feel blessed to have been called to join the Navigator staff in Hawaii.
