"I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest."
I first became involved with The Navigators when I went to Norway and Latvia on a summer missions trip with them in 2007. I've gone back to these countries with The Navigators every summer since, and on top of that, have just returned from spending a year working with The Navigators' student ministry in the UK as part of their Connect program (similar to EDGE Corps in the US). As my involvement with The Navigators has increased over the past few years, I've realized that they are an excellent fit for me, both in utilizing my gifts and talents, and perhaps more importantly in equipping me to serve well. I'm excited to see this process continue in the next few years, as I plan to serve in Latvia with The Navigators and to continue to benefit from the structure and the style of the organization to equip and prepare me before and during my stay overseas. I'm really excited about the opportunity to minister with university students in Riga, Latvia, over the next few years. As a result of my summer trips to the country, I've gotten to know quite a few people there, many of whom live, study, and/or work in or near Riga. I hope to help equip and disciple students who have already begun to minister and reach out to their peers via Bible studies and personal interaction. My goal isn't to start something new, but to help those who have already begun the work to get the support and encouragement that they need to thrive. Relationships are the bread and butter of ministry for me, and the opportunity to build on some already in existence with friends in Latvia and encourage them in their walk with the Lord is an opportunity I'm really excited about!
