“International
students represent the future leaders of their countries at all levels
of society. I can’t think of a more strategic missionary
investment than the discipling of these people.” —Dr. Howard G. Hendricks
I am Japanese, and I care deeply about the Japanese people. Many
Japanese students come to the United States to attend college. I
minister with The Navigators at a campus in Long Beach, California,
where I develop relationships with Japanese students to tell them about
Jesus and how to have a personal relationship with Him.
This is a strategic ministry, because many of the students I interact
with will one day return to Japan (which has fewer than 1% evangelical
Christians) where they will reunite with their families and friends,
serve in business and government, and potentially have a significant
impact for Christ.
Wherever the Lord leads these students after college, I’m investing in them here and now for a lifetime of walking with Him!
