Stepping Out by Faith
Our God is so great! His love endures forever! His
timing in life is perfect and as we walk by faith holding His hand. He
guides us, and gives us comfort and direction for our lives.
In 1990, when my wife Lei and I first came to trust Jesus, we were helped along greatly in our Christian walk by a wonderful couple in Walnut Creek. For almost three years they walked alongside us, praying for us, helping us learn how to study God's Word, letting us ask questions in a safe and loving atmosphere. Their experience in helping young believers grow was a key to our growth.
In 1998, after attending our current church for six years, God began to grow a passion within me to help others grow in their relationship with God the way the Walnut Creek couple had helped us. After a few years of looking to God to help us figure out how the process goes, in 2000 God brought to Lei and me another great couple to mentor and train us. Jack and Joann Blanch, retired Navigator missionary couple, who have been serving Jesus by discipling new and young believers all their adult lives, came alongside us to encourage us, guide us, and model what it is to be great disciplemakers. This has been their life's work and over the past seven years, Lei and I have been blessed to learn from God through them.
Now, after years of training and much prayer for God's Divine Will to be revealed to us, Lei and I are stepping out by FAITH and partnering with GOD through the Church Discipleship Ministry, to fulfill HIS calling on our lives that we received in 2001.
We believe the Lord's call is for Don to leave his current job and move into full-time ministry as soon as God provides prayer and funding partners through the Body of Christ. Don's ministry focus has FIVE tracks:
Jesus is our one and only Master, and as new believers come to Him for salvation of their souls, that's where CDM, and the work God has given me with the Navigators, come into play. Providing a one-on-one discipleship process for the new believer helps deepen the roots of faith and trust in the Savior whom they just accepted. Once these believers mature and grow strong, we train them to reproduce this process through evangelism and discipleship all over again. Since 1932, God has used the Navigators, and this multiplication process, to build His Kingdom and strengthen the body of Christ for His Glory and the good of us all.
To fulfill the work God has called us to do, we need many partners; we need brothers and sisters in Christ to faithfully PRAY for this ministry. Over the years, I have learned that God works in wonderful and mighty ways when His people take time to purposefully pray. Your prayers will be of overwhelming value to us. Through experience we know that God inhabits the prayers of His people, and the "Prayers of a righteous man (or woman) are powerful." As the Lord brings us to mind, please pray for wisdom and strength in this year of transition into full-time ministry.
We can also use the financial support of the Body of Christ. Stepping out in faith and believing that God will provide for this work that He has called us to is an exciting and adventurous time. We pray that if God speaks to your heart, and you believe He is directing you to partner with us, we would be honored to be your partner in Christ for the advancement of the Gospel and the Kingdom of God through our ministry.
We are currently at 6% of our monthly budget and cannot begin full-time ministry (the five ministry tracks I spoke about earlier) till we reach 100% of our funding. Please pray about partnering with us in this great work God has called us to do right here in Northern California!
We are looking forward to God providing through great partners so we can roll up our sleeves and get HIS work done!
Blessings to ALL.
Your servants in Christ,
Don and Lei Muse

- To continue and expand his current ministry with men, "one-on-one," helping them "To know Christ and to make Him known."
- To encourage and promote disciplemaking within our own church and the churches in our area, casting a vision of Jesus’ style of discipling (one-on-one or very small groups) for men within a community of believers regardless of denomination.
- Take over the leadership role, continuing to teach the current group of disciplemakers which meets monthly for training. This group consists of six to eight men and women.
- To be trained and equipped by CDM leadership to provide various Northern California churches with the tools to promote the Intentional Disciplemaking Church (IDC) process.
- To deepen current lifestyle evangelism work in our neighborhood, community, and the Bay Area.
