Since August 2009, Dave has served as The Navigators’ Director of Military Ministry. He oversees 260 staff located on 112 installations throughout the world. The Military Ministry’s mission is to reach, disciple, and equip military men and women as lifetime laborers who know Jesus and make Him known through spiritual generations. We also care for families. Through the hardships of war, we are seeing a great movement of God within the Armed Forces and their families. Dave and his wife Melo moved from New York where they had led the ministry to officers and cadets at the United States Military Academy at West Point for 12 years. Prior to this, they served in Nancy, France, for four years and in collegiate ministry at Vanderbilt University for four years.
Dave and Melo married in 1983 while Dave was active duty in the United States Army. Dave has served in the Army Reserves for nearly 30 years and will retire in June 2011. They have been on staff with The Navigators since 1986. They have two children, Matt, 24, and Bethany, 22.
The Mead’s greatest joy and fulfillment is living day to day with each other in Christ and in community with others. They also love serving military staff and living out the Navigator values together of "living and discipling among the lost."
