Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska and USAF Academy, CO
You did not choose Me but I chose you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. John 15:16a
Jim first became involved with The Navigators when I rededicated my life to Christ as a freshman cadet at the Air Force Academy. The USAFA Navigator ministry taught me how to grow as a Christian and prepared me to serve the Lord as an Air Force officer.
We are excited to serve as Navigator staff because we love ministering to military people and their families. Having served on active duty for more than 20 years, Christie and I are dedicated to serving the military and helping make disciples for Jesus in the second half of our lives. We have been called to bear fruit that will last (John 15:16). We consider this a privilege, and are humbled and excited to serve the Lord by "serving those who serve" on this faith adventure.
The Offutt Navigators Military Ministry focuses on encouraging and reaching a wide spectrum of the Offutt military community from young first-term airmen through field grade officers and their families and all ranks in between to include retirees. By God's grace and power, we strive to serve, share Christ, and make disciples among the approximately 10,000 enlisted personnel, officers, and families at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. Offutt Air Force Base is a strategic location for the U.S. Military, as it consists of one of the USAF's largest flying wings, the joint service U.S. Strategic Command, and the Air Force Weather Agency.
We are also now leading the Navigators Ministry at the US Air Force Academy, albeit from afar for the next several months, until we move to Colorado Springs in summer 2011. We are so excited to return to USAFA for the third time but will really miss our home and friends in the Omaha area. What a blessing to serve the Lord at USAFA which is a place where the Lord touched Jim's life in a mighty way, and our prayer is that He will continue to work mightily there for His glory and purposes for many years to come.
We love helping people know Christ, grow in their spiritual journey, and deal with the difficulties and challenges of military life!
