Virginia Tech Welcome to our website! One of the reasons we joined staff was because we saw what great impact one person can have on another's life, just by being intentional about sharing Jesus with their own lives. What great potential there is on a college campus where much dialogue and questions about faith and morals exist.
You have heard me teach many things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Teach these great truths to trustworthy people who are able to pass them on to others. 2 Timothy 2:2 (NLT)
God has put it on our hearts to be missionaries to the college campus, where we help mentor and develop students who wish to pursue deeper faith in Jesus Christ during their college years. We mostly disciple those who want to grow and essentially be missionaries among their peers.
We (Greg and Lacy) have the same heart and vision to build into and train up students (disciples) who have access to relationships on the campus that others don't. Our goal is to teach them how to fish themselves, and then teach them how to teach others how to fish. In essence, more disciples become a chain in the link that extends the reach of the church to an environment that has, by and large, been burned out or wounded by religion.
Jesus prayed for workers in the harvest field, and the college campus is a big harvest where students are coming in with a huge diversity of experience with God. Most just need a safe place to be able to ask questions and wrestle with issues about God, have someone listen to them and to take them seriously. We try to create and set that tone in our ministry by serving our campus, and being available to spiritually-centered friendships.
