Fort Bragg, NC"Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give men in exchange for you, and people in exchange for your life."
Isaiah 43:4
Both Betts and I have been discipled by the Fort Bragg Military Ministry, although the seeds of discipleship were planted much earlier by Dan and Liz Heefner during our college days back in 1999. We have a passion to reach Soldiers for Christ. As new Navigator staff we are excited to see God continue to answer His promises through the Military Ministry.
For the past 6 years we have served as insiders in the Military Ministry (Infantry Officer). Over the past 3 years we have increasingly felt the call to be full time missionaries to the military. It has been amazing to watch God moving amongst the Army, but there is still a vast amount of land that needs to be claimed for Christ. Rather than turn back to Egypt, we want to be like Caleb and Joshua. These men were not intimidated by the fortified cities, but knew that God had already promised them the land. All they needed to do was "move out" and claim it. In a very real way, we are in the same situation. God has already promised us the land the land through His Son, Jesus Christ (Gal. 3:29), we just need to be faithful to "move out" and claim it.
So, as we make this transition from the Military to Navigator staff, we covet your prayers and financial support. We are praying about where God would like us to "move out" to. I am also currently attending seminary at Liberty University and will enter the Reserves as a Chaplain upon completion. This is a wonderful way to continue to serve Soldiers and their families in an official capacity. We are having a blast and could not think of a better way to spend our lives, in exchange for people (Isa. 43:4).
