I have never been vocal about my faith in God or my relationship with Jesus at work but that changed when I got a new job at a new company.  Shortly after starting I met a lady who is openly a Christian at work.  I invited her to Faith@Work and she enjoyed it so much she started inviting other women at work.  During a Faith@Work lunch, Karen mentioned starting a Bible Study at work and we all looked at each other with excitement.  We talked about it for a few weeks but didn’t really do anything.  I was scared to death to step to the front and organize it because I was afraid of what other people at work would think of me.  However, God had a different idea.  So, I called Karen and met with her to get some ideas about how to start.  I borrowed several books from her and brought them back to work with me.  The other three ladies and myself met, looked over the materials, and selected Growing with Christ for our first study.

Originally we invited 16 other women and men from work to join us in the study.  All but four of them responded “yes”.  One gentlemen agreed to co-lead the study with me and got a male coworker to sign up, too.  The group has started a scholarship fund for employees that may not be able to afford the price of the book.  A couple of the ladies did not have Bibles so someone offered to go shopping for them and has opened up the service to anyone else in need of a Bible.  We have several locations throughout the state and a lady from an office too far to drive to the weekly study has requested that we let her join in by telephone.

We will have our first study on April 16 at noon.  We are so excited because we can see God’s hand upon it.  Please pray for us and the entire group.  God is good!

Our Bible study group at work has been an incredible blessing for me.  With everything from brand new believers, to those who have been walking with the Lord for many years, it is amazing to see how God uses each person to minister to the others in the group every week.  We also have some who have not yet accepted His free gift of salvation, but are still checking out the claims of Christ.  This leads to some wonderful discussions and helps us dig into the Word together for answers.  Some of the ladies have never participated in a study group prior to this one.  Some had never even read the Bible before now......
 
The ladies are learning to listen for God's voice, learning to pray, learning to read His Word and comprehend it, learning to lean on Him for strength and guidance.....for the first time in their lives.  This journey has been absolutely amazing.  It has become obvious to me that God has orchestrated every detail and that He has brought us together for "such a time as this".  I can't wait to see what He will do next!!
