The Search for Significance
Robert S McGee
Most of us are tempted, at one time or another, to seek our self-esteem and our identity from worldly pursuits. This book focuses on teaching us how to "apply the foundational truths that can motivate us to live for Christ rather than for the approval of other people."

Our speaker this month, Mary Arnholt, recommends "Search for Significance" because "it challenges our everyday perceptions of what makes us successful and brings us back to Bible-based definitions of success." The book includes a workbook which can be used for individual or group study.

The Treasure Principle: Unlocking the Secret of Joyful Giving
Randy Alcorn

I thought I had a pretty good handle on what it means to give to God, but my eyes were opened to a whole new way of thinking when I read this book.  Randy Alcorn shares his own concept of the treasure principle:  “You can’t take it with you, but you can send it on ahead.”

This book is not about guilting us into giving.  It’s about the joy of giving.  As  one reviewer puts it, “In Randy Alcorn’s The Treasure Principle, you’ll unearth a radical teaching of Jesus—a secret wrapped up in giving. Once you discover this secret, life will never look the same. And you won’t want it to.”

If you want more of Christ in your life, consider looking at this key principle of Christlikeness.  You won’t look at money the same way again. There is also a Bible Study workbook available for individual or group study.

Executive Influence: Impacting Your Workplace for Christ
Christopher Crane & Mike Hamel
Recently I had an opportunity to talk with someone about the legal rights of Christians in the workplace, and was grateful to have this book in my library as a resource.  Not only is this book full of “sound advice on taking your faith to work”, but it also has some great guidelines for business owners and managers about sharing one’s faith, offering Bible Studies, handing out religious literature, sharing the gospel, etc. in the workplace.  A must read for anyone who is serious about standing firm for Christ in the marketplace.
