Over 200 women attended our Christmas luncheon and shared in the gifts, the glitter and the warm hospitality of our annual event. The highlight of our time together though, was our featured speaker, Jeni Civerolo. With her trademark wit and wisdom, Jeni shared a humorous look at the challenges of Christmas shopping for the special people on our list (I believe the fur-lined Santa boxer shorts were even given away as a doorprize). Then she touched our hearts with a unique presentation of the gospel message: a reminder of the greatest gift ever given!

This month we gave each woman who attended the luncheon a blank Christmas card from "Abiding in the Vine Ministries". These beautiful cards include the gospel message and instructions for reading the Bible further. The challenge was as follows:

Pray for God to direct you as you seek someone to whom you can send your card this Christmas season. Include a personal message of God's love and yours inside.

NEW BEGINNINGS

The snow began to fall softly on the black asphalt of the almost deserted parking lot. As I walked across the pavement, I enjoyed the quiet of the early morning. Then I smiled as I thought how different this scene will probably be next week – when all those with New Year’s resolutions join me in my excursion to the gym.

TODAY. That's all you can focus on. You can have time with God today. Don't make empty promises about tomorrow's faithfulness. Today's faithfulness gives you a good chance for tomorrow's success.
