Helping business and professional women put their faith (in Christ) to work (in their lives) in order to make a difference (in the world)
March 5, 2007

In today's fast paced, high expectation business world, it is easy to feel an occasional sense of inadequacy and insecurity about ourselves. We might even be tempted to think its all about us and whether we succeed or fail . This month we're going to hear about what God says about our significance and what we can do in response. Please join us on the 19th and hear a testimony that will inspire and encourage you.

For more information about this ministry, or other ways you can be involved, check out my website here.

  • That's What Friends Are For
    Friendly Chat

What do you look for in a friend? Someone who makes you laugh? A listening ear? Common interests? Maybe it’s someone who knows you for who you really are and accepts you anyway! As Christians, we may want someone who shares our passion for Jesus, but there’s something more we should consider.

Sylvia Tarro, our February Valentines Luncheon speaker, reminded us that “It’s a matter of praying, not for a blessing, but to be a blessing!”

    Monthly Challenge
    working woman with fire

At February's luncheon we gave each woman a blank Valentine's card and asked her to write a special note and give the card to a potential new friend in her workplace or sphere of influence.

We also challenged each woman to pray that she will be the kind of friend that honors and glorifies God.

Let us know what God is doing in your life. Send us a testimony of how God has used this challenge in your life and we'll share it with the Faith@Work community in an upcoming newsletter.

Your Testimonies (What God is Doing in You)

Here I am, running late to the Faith @ Work luncheon and I am stressed! I’m a Table Hostess and I’m NOT supposed to be late, but as work sometimes goes, I got behind. I even considered not going. But I went. I go flying in and find a table and am greeted with such graciousness that my guilt starts to fade. No time to get a ticket for the giveaways at the end, but that’s ok. I was sure there were a lot of women who God had chosen for those (doorprizes) that needed them more than I did.

    Food For Thought

"I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food." (Job 23:12)

    HINTS FOR A HAPPY FRIENDSHIP

Proverbs 18:24 says “One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” What kind of friends are we? Here’s a list of hints for a happy friendship, taken from Alice Gray’s book, “Lists to Live By: For Everything that Really Matters”. See how many of these hints you can put into practice this month!

    • Make friends even if you don't think you need them.
    • Seek out quiet people. They have a lot to say, if you say something first.
    • Don't establish a friendship based on mutual dislikes.
    • Call if you're running late.

    Quick Quotable!

Work is not, primarily, a thing one does to live, but the thing one lives to do. It is, or it should be, the full expression of the worker’s faculties, the thing in which he finds spiritual, mental and bodily satisfaction, as the medium in which he offers himself to God.
