Dear Maura,

My Christmas decorations are all packed away, and my husband finally braved the sub-zero morning temperature the other day to take the lights off the roof. Now it truly feels like a new year and a fresh start. I hope, like me, you're ready to embrace 2011 and a new year of great testimonies from the women of Faith@Work!
To kick off the year, we have Antoinette Baca, a long time Faith@Work attender and recent political candidate. She has a very interesting story about her first experience in the world of politics and what she learned about herself and about God's perfect plans!

Choosing Rest: Cultivating a Sunday Heart in a Monday World by Sally Breedlove
I received this book a couple of years ago as a gift (a subtle hint to me, perhaps?) and I picked it up again recently in the middle of a typical stressed out/hectic schedule. What perfect timing that was.
This book reminded me again, that rest is one of God's greatest gifts to us, and one that often eludes us. As I read it, I discovered new tools to help me cultivate rest in my life and experience peace even in the midst of chaos. If you think you're too busy to read it, then maybe that's just the reason you NEED to read it!
