Introducing Karen Warin

I knew God was calling me into vocational ministry very shortly after becoming a Christian.  My husband Leroy and I came to the Lord in January of 1989, and within weeks we were being discipled by Nav staff.  Within two years we were leading a young couples’ Bible Study at our church and I found myself discipling women, leading mini-retreats in my home, and teaching others how to lead.  This led to an opportunity to direct women’s ministry for my church where, among other things, I delighted in leading over 200 women on an annual retreat to Glorieta Conference Center for five years.

In God’s perfect timing, He called me to the staff of The Navigators in 2001, and I began to develop a ministry to business and professional women in Albuquerque. One of the signature events of this ministry has been the Faith@Work luncheons that I host every month for business women throughout Albuquerque. These women come each month to hear about putting their faith to work, and then share how they see God teaching them to apply it in their own lives.

Over the past five years I have met some amazing women who have shared stories of faith that blow me away!  Whether its women in the church, the workplace, or in my neighborhood, I can think of no greater honor than to serve God by encouraging, enriching, and equipping the women He brings into my life.

Leroy and I consider our greatest disciples to be our daughter Rebecca and our son Nicholas, who are the joy of our lives. Rebecca is 23 and Nick is 19 at the University of New Mexico and has been involved in Young Life and attended their summer camps for years.

Leroy and I pray that they will have a significant impact for God’s kingdom on the next generation.

And the things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also (2 Timothy 2:2).
