Faith@Work

Consider this observation of the mindset of corporate America today:

“Work has become our new religion, where we worship and give our time. As people’s commitment to family, community, and faith are shrinking, they begin to look to their careers to provide them with meaning, connectedness, identity, and esteem”  (John Ortberg, Pastor, Willowcreek Church in Chicago).

In light of this, the goal of The Navigators B&P Women’s Ministry of Albuquerque is to help business and professional women find their meaning, connectedness, identity, and esteem in Christ!

Our vision is threefold:
1) To be a resource, support, and encouragement to the Christian woman in the workplace,

2) To be “insiders” within our spheres of influence, to build relationships with the lost, lead them to Christ, and disciple them so they will grow strong in their faith.

3) To raise up and equip leaders in the B&P community who will invest themselves in the lives of others to multiply devoted followers of Christ.

Our Strategy:

Step 1: Faith@Work Luncheons

Developing a network of B&P women, through monthly luncheons, who have a desire to live out their faith more visibly in the workplace. Christmas 2008 Luncheon

We have been holding our Faith@Work luncheons since October of 2002, and have grown from 35–40 participants to over 100 women in attendance at each one.  Each month we hear a testimony from one of these women about how she has been challenged to put her faith to work in her workplace. Then we discuss how the speaker’s experience is relevant in our own lives, and how we can challenge one another to learn from it.

Step 2:  Personal Ministry

Investing purposefully in the lives of B&P women, through prayer, relationship building, mentoring, and leadership opportunities.

Our goal here is to encourage, enrich, and equip women so that they will go back to their spheres of influence and invest their lives purposefully as well.

Step 3:  Outreach to the community

We provide opportunities for reaching out to women in the marketplace, through workplace Bible Studies and Evangelistic lunches, offering them a glimpse of who Jesus Christ is in our lives and His relevance to their lives; in other words, being salt and light in the workplace.
