How to Be a Hope-Giver
Faith@Work is a Navigators sponsored monthly luncheon for business women in Albuquerque, NM. Its mission is helping business and professional women live out their faith more intentionally in their workplaces. We do this through several different means:
• Presenting challenging messages each month from local practitioners who are learning how to live on purpose for God.
• Promoting, developing and implementing Bible Studies in the workplace for women across the city.
• Recruiting, training and utilizing volunteers in a variety of ways to reach out and connect with other business women each month at the luncheons.

Angie Thurman radiates energy. She stands out , even in a crowded room, and she draws you into her presence with her smile and her booming voice! No one would ever guess that this woman had once been the victim of a constant barrage of degrading and debilitating abuse. After hearing about the level of poverty her family experienced, her current success as a business woman, wife and mother seems even more unbelievable. How could someone so disadvantaged as a child have so much success and hope in her life today?
The answer, of course, is the intervening hand of God. When she found Him at a church revival meeting in high school, her life turned around. But she still had to deal with all the emotional scars that haunted her. She found that she was afraid of success and she lacked self-confidence in her role as a business woman and as a wife and mother. She had to take some specific steps to heal and to learn how to trust God with her life. Here are the steps that Angie took, and that we can take as well, when we’re working to overcome wounds from the past.
1. Be sure that you have a personal relationship with Christ.
2. Pursue the personal dream that God has given you with all your heart.
3. Deal with any fears that are holding you back.
4. Ask for help when you need it!
5. Forgive the people in your life who have hurt you.
6. Seek out the promises of God for your life.
7. Share your story of hope with others.
