"Giving Thanks"

Four women stood up, one by one, at the front of the crowded room at our Faith@Work luncheon last month.  Each one, in turn, shared how this ministry has been a blessing in her life.  It was our “Thanks-giving” luncheon; a tradition that we’ve practiced for 7 years!

Carol talked about the messages she has heard here, that have inspired her to live out her faith more intentionally.  Meredith shared about a co-worker she brought to the luncheon, who later prayed to receive Christ.  Lisa talked about all the little ways she’s been able to serve, that have made her feel connected.  And Gina pointed out a group of co-workers in the room who come with her every month.

God is working in the lives of these business women, not only through the luncheons but in the workplaces themselves!  We are seeing more and more  women get together to study the Bible at their offices.  One of our Workplace Bible Study leaders shared this recently:

“Some of the ladies have never participated in a study group prior to this one.  Some had never even read the Bible before now. (They) are learning to listen for God's voice, learning to pray, learning to read His Word and comprehend it, learning to lean on Him for strength and guidance...for the first time in their lives.”

This is the primary purpose of Faith@Work:  challenging women to be intentional about living out their faith. We are taking Jesus into the workplace and people are responding!  I am so thankful for these small groups and for each of you who play a part in this ministry.
