March 2010 Easter Thought

Dear Partners in Ministry,

Probably one of the best days of the year for me is when we change to daylight saving time, even if it starts with a shorter weekend. It means I can ride my mountain bike without having to take lighting and cold weather gear . . . and feeling the warmer air, which I love! The official first day of spring follows soon after. At this point, I’m in a good mood, motivated to spruce up the yard so that it’s a great place to just be! Spring brings several varieties of birds to our yard for nesting. We have a humming bird who has built a nest on our wind chime. They must be a musical variety. The capstone of spring is Easter. Churches begin conducting special activities that prepare our hearts for the most important week on the Christian calendar, remembering Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection!  It gives believers hope in life after death. Eventually, every believer will experience their own personal Easter.

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Rom 8:11 (NASB)

How exciting to celebrate Easter when you understand what it means for each of us who have invited Jesus into our lives.  Thank you Jesus!

Warmly In Him,

Sam & Kathy Johns
