April 2009 Resurrection Power for Stone Removal
“They were saying to one another, ‘Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?’” Mark 16:3 (NASB95)
I’m amazed at the determination and faith of these women. They set out to anoint the body of Jesus, regardless of the stone blocking the tomb.
On the other hand, they were merely taking care of the routine custom of anointing Jesus’ body. They weren’t considering the promised resurrection!
I can identify with the ladies. I’m often wondering about how the stones that I’m facing are going to be moved, in order to accomplish the routine. I’m short-sighted, unable to see the big picture of what Jesus is doing to accomplish His purposes.
The ladies never pushed against the stone. Resurrection power moved the great stone with little effort! If I’m focused on Jesus and the mission of making disciples of Christ, the stones in my life are going to be taken care of.
With the challenges that we face today, I’m encouraged that God can move the stones.
There is Resurrection Power for the Mission!
Warmly In Him,
Sam & Kathy Johns
