To Know Christ and Make Him Known

Therefore my heart exults

 Psalms 28:7 (NASB95)
7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart exults, And with my song I shall thank Him.

“Therefore my heart exults”

Recently I had a coupon offer for print cartridges. Buy two packages and you get $20 off. That seemed like a good deal. I needed a black one anyway. My strategy was to stock up on a three pack of color and a two pack of black. Ugh! The store only had the three packs of color. I was a little frustrated as I needed black right away.

I decided to wait and return several days later, thinking they would restock. When I went back to the store, it was the same as before. I experienced a bit of a slow internal burn, but said nothing as I knew the issue wouldn’t be resolved immediately anyway. I thought about it as I walked around the store and decided to take advantage of my coupon and purchase two of the color packages. I’d just have to go somewhere else to get the black.

Nursing a complaining attitude about the injustice of it all, I went back to the aisle to get the ink.  I pulled a pack of color off the display and just behind it was a package of black! I checked all of the other cartons of ink and there was no black. The one that I had was the only one in the store. It was like God decided to give me something, in spite of my poor attitude, just to show Himself to me.

We have all probably experienced something similar. It was one of those God sighting moments for me. Completely humbled, I was reminded that God is on the throne and is intimately aware of my thoughts and attitude. Although I was repentant, and wished I could take back my crummy attitude, I was amazed.  God cares about even the smallest things like making sure that there was one package of black ink just for me.

This reminder made my heart exult in Him for revealing Himself to me in a private special moment that we shared!
