ChicagoLet us not become weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
After thinking for years that The Navigators only served white suburban communities, I discovered that they have a unique, growing ministry to inner city communities. When I was able to see first hand what The Navigators is doing to reach hurting people in the city, I knew I wanted to be part of it.
I have watched the local Navigator staff making a difference in their own neighborhoods, yet also providing a sense of community to other staff members across the city. After years of doing ministry on my own, I finally feel like I have a ministry family who is invested in my life and enthusiastic about equipping me to serve how God has called me to serve.
After teaching life skills and character development in a local high school for ten years, I began to feel confined and limited in my ability to share Christ. After seeking God for his next step for me, I feel him drawing me to the hurting young women in the community and hope to “do life” with them.
I am excited about having the freedom to share the healing power of Christ with these women, helping them develop a personal relationship with him, and watching them reach others in their community for Christ.
