Metro Missions

Compton, CA

They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.
Isaiah 61:4
Holistic community development is key to reaching a city. We focus on three primary aspects of development with the underlying spiritual (faith-based) development as our foundation:

• Youth (Individual) Development
• Leadership Development
• Economic Development

We love God and the community He has placed us in. Since 1993, we have had the privilege to live and serve here in the Compton/Los Angeles area, and we believe we have probably the best job in the world!

Youth Development is the passion that brought us to Compton and continues to be the main issue we “pound the table” about. Our first 10 years was at the Calvary Baptist SAY Yes Center for Youth Development, and now we help facilitate youth development activities around the city.

One of our main focuses is discipling youth and families via Compton United Soccer Club, a U.S. Soccer-sanctioned club that captures the imagination of kids, youth, and their families while letting us focus on life and spiritual development areas. This has been a phenomenal ministry opportunity God has directed us into. I (Mike) am the chaplain of Chivas U.S.A. of Major League Soccer. I disciple players and help them develop outreach into the community of Compton as well as the world.

We serve as missionaries with The Navigators Metro Mission in Compton to help mobilize the Church to live out God's heart for the poor and ultimately to see Compton transformed.

We have two children, Sydney and Zachary.
