University of South Carolina - Columbia, SCYou did not choose Me but I chose you and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.
John 15:16
I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating from Georgia Tech with a degree in electrical engineering. While working for a year with Nortel Networks, I heard about a short-term mission opportunity on a college campus with The Navigators. I signed up. That one year turned into many years working with The Navigators at FSU, helping start a ministry in Argentina, and now working on campus at the University of South Carolina.
Our objective at USC is to lead students to Christ and then help them along until they can do the same for others. We desire for our students to grow in love for the Scriptures and in boldness as they help others on their spiritual journey. We accomplish these things through one-on-one time with students, investigative Bible discussions with non-believers, inductive Bible studies, sports, conferences, and service projects.
I’m excited about this ministry because I clearly see God working through it. One of the students said, "I've been on mission trips in high school, but I never would have believed that I could share the Gospel myself, and that I could do it so relationally." I love seeing students grow in intimacy with God as well as develop a heart for those around them.
