Utsunomiya, JapanBut none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
Acts 20:24 (KJV)
We both met The Navigators during our college years (Bryan at Virginia Tech and Renee at UC San Diego). Through The Navigators, we caught the vision for knowing Christ and making Him known. The staff who invested in us taught us to walk with Christ, to dig deep into the Scriptures, to cling to God’s promises, and to share the love of Jesus with the world around us.
Moved by God’s heart for the nations and fresh out of college, we both committed to two-year mission assignments in Japan where we wound up serving together on the same Navigator staff team. We were married in 1996 and, after working professionally (Bryan in automotive engineering and Renee in TESL), we returned to Japan as full-time Navigator staff in 1999.
With a population of 127 million, the Japanese are the second largest unreached people group in the world. For us, this statistic carries with it the faces and names of many dear friends who have yet to put their faith in Jesus Christ. We consider it a great privilege to labor for the Gospel in this land and long to see God raise up generations of faithful Japanese men and women who will live as wholehearted disciples of our Lord and Savior.
