College Ministry

 Mid-Atlantic Region

I do not consider my life of any account dear to myself, in order that I may finish my course, and the ministry I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God.
Acts 20:24

While in the Navy, teaching ROTC at Norwich University in Vermont, we partnered with a campus ministry to train student leaders to reach their peers for Christ. Through that experience, God led us to full-time student ministry with The Navigators (2001). We moved to Texas, joined the Navy reserve, and were trained in student ministry serving with The Navigators’ Collegiate staff team at Texas A&M. Our focus was primarily on students in the Corps of Cadets.

Then the Lord presented an opportunity to go “Down Under” to work with students at the Australian Defense Force Academy (ADFA) in Canberra, Australia. From 2004 to 2008, we were a part of a dynamic, team engaged with students at three universities in Canberra, leading the ministry at ADFA the last two years.

When God brought us back to the U.S., we expected to end up with the Military Ministry in some capacity, maybe even in Texas. But He had other plans (Proverbs 16:9)!

In August 2009, he moved us to Harrisonburg, Virginia, where we serve today. We’re excited to live in the Shenandoah Valley, our base of operations for covering The Navigators’ Collegiate Mid-Atlantic Region. We come alongside over 50 Navigator staff and volunteers in this five-state area and Washington DC to care for and serve them as they minister to students.

Together, as a regional team, we’re trusting God to advance the Gospel of Jesus and His Kingdom among students on the campuses where we have a ministry presence, plus many more in the months and years ahead! At the same time, we’re committed to laboring alongside other missions in The Navigators, partner churches, and anyone else to help students transition from the campus to the marketplace. Ultimately, we long to see spiritual generations of fruitful alumni impacting their families, workmates, neighbors, and the nations for a lifetime!
