It's rest time for us! And not a minute too soon. After an incredibly busy summer, we're taking two weeks to rest, pray, and plan in Estes Park, Colorado. Please see the Discipleship Perspective on Rest at the end of this letter. Also, you can read about our summer travels including a blessed family reunion in Arkansas--all 13 Ewells were there!

The theme of this newsletter is "All of us are missionaries," and I'd like you to read a letter I wrote to an 8-year-old friend of mine. Young Matthew, along with his sister and parents are in a home group with June, me and several other families. Matthew had to interview a missionary, and he chose me. I wrote the letter in response to his excellent questions: What do you do for The Navigators? How do you help churches grow disciple-makers? To read my simplified explanation of our ministry, please click here.
April 2011
Spring is the time for new life, and we're pleased to announce the birth of our fifth grandchild! Sawyer Dawtrey Ewell was born to David and Courtney just after midnight Sunday morning, Atlanta time, April 3. Six pounds, 6 ounces, 20 inches.
This update is about starting and sustaining life, from a newborn to a veteran. Please read the newsletter to see how Jim Downing is still going at age 97+, and how we need to stay with the essentials.
