I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your
hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people
and a light for the Gentiles (Isaiah 42:6).
I (Mike) served more than 10 years in the military,
stationed at various posts around the world. During that time,
God cultivated my heart for soldiers (Matthew 9:36-37), gave me a
passion to share Jesus Christ with them, and to disciple them (Matthew
28:19-20).
Our last duty assignment and deployment was spent with
the 86th Combat Support Hospital at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. While
overseas, God gave me this verse:
I,
the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your
hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people
and a light for the Gentiles (Isaiah 42:6).
We are currently living near and ministering to the soldiers at Fort
Campbell, Kentucky. A huge part of our ministry involves meeting with
men and women one-to-one and helping them to read, understand, and
apply the Bible to their own life.
Some of our other ministry
activities include helping lead a Thursday night discipleship Bible
study on Fort Campbell, attending chapel on Sundays, and serving
Wednesday night dinners for fellowship and for sharing more
truth. Playing softball after church on Sundays also has offered
great opportunity to reach out to soldiers and talk about Christ in a
more casual environment.
We are excited about being part of the Navigator family, advancing the
Gospel of Jesus and His Kingdom into the nations, and being about the
work the Lord has given us. We are praying that the Lord will
continue to open doors that will allow us to do more full-time ministry
in the near future.
