Washington, DCThe Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners. Isaiah 61:1
Life and ministry in Washington, DC is much different than the ministry I was involved with at the University of Northern Iowa from 1998-2001. In September 2001, I sensed the Father leading me to work with the brokenhearted in DC.
Since being in DC, I have had the privilege and honor of building relationships with people all over the city. There have been times when God has opened doors for me to DJ school events, coach, and help with sports camps. Presently, I evangelize on the streets, do discipleship, expose youth and young adults to new experiences, go to the prisons, feed the homeless, and play basketball at local recreation centers.
My heart and passion is to see African-American males grow in their glorious journey in life and experience the deep love of Jesus. I believe life is a journey and God wants to be an integral part of this adventure. Because of Jesus’ love for me, I have the privilege of loving those around me. My hope is to continue exploring and developing skills to take youth and young adults to deeper places in their heart, mind, and soul; so our Creator can touch their deepest wounds.
