Hello! We are Tony and Michele Brown. We both attended Tyler Junior College (TJC), and now we’re going back as Navigator staff to reach students with the Gospel!
Michele attended TJC after moving to Tyler, then transferred to the University of Texas at Tyler where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Tony attended TJC while working as a locomotive engineer with the Cotton Belt Railroad. After completing TJC’s paramedic program, he taught in the program. Being students and faculty has created an affinity in Tony and Michele for students at TJC.
In 2009, Tony became involved with The Navigators after attending a men’s conference and was completely overwhelmed with the biblical and spiritual insights he learned. Putting into practice what he had learned, Tony began being discipled by a Navigator mentor and praying for a way he could be obedient to Christ by producing spiritual generations, (2 Timothy 2:2).
After contacting The Navigators’ Collegiate office in December 2010, God opened doors, and as associate staff, Tony began a new Navigator collegiate ministry at Tyler Junior College.
Tony and Michele love students and want to invest in their walk with God and everyday lives. They help students by finding where they are, helping them navigate through life’s challenges, and mentoring them toward spiritual maturity.
The TJC Navigator Collegiate ministry is a dynamic place where college students from all walks of life can grow deeper in Christ by learning how to obey Jesus’ commands, effectively pray and study the Bible, have a daily quiet time with God, memorize Scripture, and share their faith with others.
Their mission is simple:
To know, love, and glorify God, and to be used by Himto raise up qualified laborers among college students,in significant numbers, as fast as possible,to help fulfill the Great Commission.Check out
