Maintenance Technician

(Week-end and after-hours work required as assigned)
Responsibilities: Position which will provide support to all aspects of maintenance operations. This includes buildings, grounds and vehicle maintenance. General construction, maintenance and shop operations. Includes: power tools, building projects, locks and key systems; wall repairs – drywall-plaster-stucco. Also includes general repairs – electrical and plumbing, carpentry, masonry - welding, painting and includes some light mechanical - auto, small engine and diesel. Other duties include: mowing, edging, aeration, fertilization and herbicide application. Maintain trees, plants, shrubs, flower beds, native plants and herbicide application as needed, (when not covered by the volunteer gardeners). Assist with installation and/or repair of automatic and manual irrigation systems. Needs to have basic computer skills. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. One to 3 (1-3) years’ minimum prior experience is required. Experience in general construction, building maintenance and landscaping is preferred. Experience in outdoor labor and mowing equipment is also desired. Proficient in the use and safety practices of all general grounds maintenance tools and equipment. Possess the ability to prioritize work and work well within a team environment. Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators.
