One-verse Cards - Illustration

Good for any audience. Start with the text side (not the illustration).
  • "People make religion (or Christianity) more complicated than it is. It's really quite simple. This sentence from the Bible explains what it's all about." Read the verse and explanations, then turn the card over and say, "This illustration makes it easy to understand. Let me show you."

  • "Did you know there's one sentence that sums up the whole message of the Bible?" Listen/talk about the answer. Read the verse and explanations, then turn the card over and say, "This illustration explains what it means."

  • "Would you mind if I show you why a spiritual life is important to me?" Listen/talk about the answer. Read the verse and explanations, then turn the card over and say, "A spiritual life means a loving relationship with God. This picture shows what that looks like."

  • "You know what, God loves you and me and He just wants us to love him back. This explains how." Read the verse and explanations, then turn the card over and say, "Here is another way to look at it."

  • "Can I show you why I go to church/am a Christian/need God/belong to this group.?" Listen/talk about the answer. Read the verse and explanations, then turn the card over and say, "This explains what I believe." (This is especially good in response to a personal question about why you seem "different.")

  • "If you're ever interested, this little card illustrates how much God loves you." After quickly showing the card, put it away. Do not force the person to listen to you. Only explain the card if the person expresses an interest.
