The Issue of Shame
Ralph & Jennifer Ennis and Paula Rinehart

When Guilt-free Isn't Enough
People are flocking to hellfire-and-brimstone plays by the droves, especially youth. Churches from California to Florida report record attendance and record response. Heaven and hell, rather than being passed off as irrelevant myths of some past era, are again occupying center stage. The productions have touched a nerve.
Jesus wouldn't be surprised at the current generation's response. He knows the heart of man. He knows what it means to offer the Good News to people who, for all their swagger and "coolness," know they have sinned and deserve destruction.
This booklet discusses the emotional filters that surround the reality of sin. In particular, it addresses the difference between guilt and shame and how these feelings influence one's understanding of and response to the Gospel.
