Giving Opportunities

Two enormous tasks weigh on us.
First, over 5,000 young believers from our most recent in-prison outreaches need follow up. Here are the current numbers: New Hampshire, 982; Vermont, 308; Oklahoma, 2,930; and Texas, 1,692.
These men and women have heard the Word of God and repented. Now they must grow and set down deep roots.
Jesus warned that a seed with "no root...quickly falls away" (Matthew 13:21). Your gift will help this precious seed take root and grow before doubt, disappointment, old habits, and fear creep in to steal it away.
Second, Prison Fellowship's new president, Mark Earley, a Navigator, has asked us to develop a two-year discipleship course for prisoners in the InnerChange Freedom Initiative. It's an outreach pioneered five years ago and championed by then-Texas-governor, George W. Bush.

"I'm absolutely convinced this program will work," Mr. Bush said in 1997. "The best recidivism program is a changed heart." Anti-Christian groups threatened to sue, members of the media chuckled, but the faithful Governor was right.
In Texas, about 40 percent of parolees return to prison after three years. In the same amount of time, less than 5 percent of the InnerChange graduates were rearrested.
That's why the governments of Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, and most recently, Minnesota have followed the lead of Mr. Bush and adopted this program. More will follow.
Though obviously effective, the current program is missing a key ingredient: Spiritual multiplication. How to reach and disciple others, who, in turn, will reach and disciple others. Propelled by your gifts and our work, InnerChange graduates will truly be laborers in the harvest!
So, please give your gift today. Any measure of grace on your part will bless repentant, grateful hearts.
