Niger: Medical, University Ministry

Medical doctor needed at University of Niamey who can teach medical terms to the medical students in English. This, according to the dean, will give the students access to the journals, periodicals, research papers, etc. in English since most of the journals, periodicals, research papers etc. are in English the world over.

A person who will fulfil the above need will have free access to the medical students for ministry. As a national ministry we have authorization from the Government to operate in the country since 1999, under the name “LA MISSION EVANGELIQUE DES NAVIGATORS DU NIGER” [The evangelical mission of the Navigators of Niger].This authorization gives us the opportunity to bring in missionaries from any part of the world. To fulfill the above need in the medical faculty is not to earn credibility for registration with the government, but to take advantage of the ministry opportunity that will result from it.

We need a medical doctor who is fluent in both English and French, since the official language in Niger is French. This person should sense God’s call to live and work among FOCUS people since over 95% of the students will be FOCUS people. Also, this person should be emotionally stable, flexible, willing, and able to endure harsh weather conditions. (During the hot season [March to June], temperatures may go up to 45 degrees centigrade, and during the Harmathan it may drop as far as 8 degrees centigrade and dusty.)

Fundraising is required, as the university is not in the position to provide accommodation, vehicle, etc.
