About Us
NavMissions, one of the seven US Navigator field missions, focuses on advancing the Gospel of Jesus and His Kingdom into the nations.
Our 350+ long-term staff work in:
- 26 closed countries
- 24 countries identified as Islamic
- 31 countries of the “10 / 40 window,” which spreads from West Africa to East Asia.
NavMissions staff members serve alongside 1,900 Navigator laborers of 69 other nationalities, together advancing the gospel in more than 100 countries around the world!
Our History
In 1944, Dawson Trotman, founder of The Navigators, began to pray for every nation of the world. In 1948, God began to answer Dawson's prayer as The Navigators' first foreign missionary boarded a boat for China. Today, The Navigators ranks in the top 10 percent of foreign missions agencies in the number of overseas workers in active service.
Our Calling
To advance the gospel of Jesus and His Kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost.
Our Beliefs
The Navigators Statement of Faith
Our Strategy
- To strengthen discipleship ministries in countries where we have a presence, seeing them eventually become sending bases
- To expand into areas where it is typically difficult for Western Christians to serve and the Gospel is resisted
Our Home Team
The NavMissions-US Home Team recruits, prepares, and cares for American laborers serving overseas. Essentially, we are here to send and sustain.
Sending
Becoming a part of the NavMissions team isn’t just a matter of checking off a "to-do list." We care about the thoughts, hopes, and questions applicants have when considering living abroad, whether for short-, mid- or long-term service. Our goal is to help them work through the application process, step-by-step, and to prepare applicants as much as possible for their next move, as God directs. To learn more, click here.
Sustaining
When overseas workers are on the field, they are focused on the people they are ministering to, as well as dealing with the pressures of cross-cultural life. As the Home Team, we work to make sure they are are being cared for and ministered to as well. To learn more, click here.
